About me:
Hey, I'm Xane! I started this webpage because carrd.co is dumb and stupid and I feel more comfortable with HTML/CSS.
Some basic facts about me:
- American, but I'm not telling specifics to random strangers online. That's creepy, and I am NOT a creeper.
- I use EST.
- She/her preferred for pronouns. He/him is ok too, because I like being mysterious.
- I identify with the orientations of asexual and demiromantic.
- Most of my accounts are xanekete, like Discord (page links to English Puyo Puyo Community Discord server), Tumblr, Backloggd, Steam, and website email (xanekete@proton.me).
- I speak English (native) and a little bit of Japanese. Enough to play a few games in it, not enough to talk to people.
Some fun facts about me:
- I'm a proud human being who likes gaming.
- I'm very normal about some guy from a puzzle game.
- My favorite fish is the (giant) oarfish! It's so long and weird and it mysteriously washes up on the beach dead. Also, it's the longest fish in the world. What an absolute baby!
- Some of my other favorite fish include the spotted garden eel/splendid garden eel, and the lake sturgeon. What can I say, I just like fish.
- My interests outside of gaming include hiking and birdwatching. (Or, as the cool kids say, I like touching grass.)
- I hope to go into natural resources (especially wetlands-related) management and restoration work in the future. Or just government stuff on a state or federal level, that would be nice. If you have any connections to the US Forest Service, US Department of Interior, US Fish and Wildlife, or USGS please let me know!
- Currently, as of 2025, I'm studying environmental science in university, and previously worked in undergraduate research there. I've currently presented posters at two whole conferences!
- I used to actually have an interest in AI development, but I HATE the state of capitalism in it. Locally run models like Stable Diffusion (images) and most open source text models are probably fine (if you let people know something is generated too/use it as a supplemental resource!), as well as recognition models. Midjourney/other for-profit image-generation and a lot for profit text models can burn, to be honest. Also, I worry for the impact of data centers on rural and minority communities.
