Zelda
Ok, that wasn't funny. Here's better things.
Fun Stuff
- Windows 93 - A pretty big throwback to an older time. Also has a LOT of secrets.
- Chao Island - Make 3D models of Chao like in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. It has a bunch of customization as well.
- Charat - A pretty easy to use and robust collection of character makers. Useful for getting rough designs of people together. (Note: The site is mostly in Japanese, but it's pretty easy to navigate.)
- KHInsider - Has a lot of game music (except Sonic) for download! Make sure to use this github script to save time.
- VGMusic - Contains basically every game MIDI transcribed on the internet. Search and new entries are broken (and have been for the past 6 months), but googling a game name plus VGMusic gives good results. I really hope they fix the site issue soon, this is probably my most used site on here!
- FMHY Wiki - I do not condone piracy. I do not condone piracy. I do not condone pi- *gets shot by the nintendo ninjas*
- Ace Attorney Objection Generator - I don't even know much about Ace Attorney but it has funny meme potential. You too can reach this funny meme potential.
- GA Aquarium African Penguin Webcam - They're cute and fun to watch! Also, GA Aquarium has a lot of other good webcams for different animals, and I highly recommend them.
- Monterey Bay Aquarium Sea Otter Webcam - Similar to above, except the sea otter cam is at a much better angle than the one in Georgia. If the link is to an archived strean, just check the channel's live tab.
- Milwaukee Zoo Lake Wisconsin Webcam - Also like the above, except you're looking at a wonderful variety of freshwater fish native to Wisconsin. I swear there is absolutely no bias in me choosing this webcam specifically.
- Otaclock - Yes, there is a clock built into Windows natively, but this is a Windows XP program that runs on Windows 10. Also Otacon's in it (and made it) so if you need to have some nerrrrd on your desktop, this will do.
- Noclip - A way to look at area models for games and have some chill scenes.
- Wii.Guide - Everyone always says that it's so easy to hack your 3DS, but I gotta be honest, the Wii is even easier. (Play CTGP when you hack it by the way, really fun to race on custom tracks!)
- Bubblecam - Blow bubbles in the back yard of a couple in Florida. Honestly just feels like the old internet, and makes me happy when I see it.
- Archive.org/Wayback Machine - Good for finding out about deleted sites, and also hosts a lot of free and legally available ebooks that you can borrow.
- Dragonfly Cave - Pokemon fansite that's very fun to read through! Also hosts a catch calculator, which is good if you want to know your odds of wasting that damn apriball on a Beldum (very high).
Actually Useful Stuff
- W3Schools - A really good source for learning CSS and HTML, as well as a bunch of other computer languages.
- Springhole - A neat writing site with a bunch of generators for worldbuilding and whatnot.
- Photopea - Photoshop but browser-based and doesn't require a $20/month subscription. You can even download the site to use offline! (I use this for the majority of custom graphics on the site.)
- YFIS - A good way to determine why you feel like garbage and can't focus for longer than 20 seconds. It also usually helps relive you of these issues.
Fun Reading Material to Waste an Entire Day On
- Lost Media Wiki - Hey wanna have some anxiety over archives not existing for stuff? Ok here you go!
- TCRF - Cut content in games. There's some really interesting articles over there but it's cool to see the development process, so to speak.
- TV Tropes - I'd put this in actually useful, but TV Tropes really does ruin your life. It's Wikipedia for story and character creation basises, so to speak. It's also great at accidentally spoiling you on stuff so browse with caution. Also use adblock because the ads have gotten way worse since I started browsing. (I haven't escaped the site in at least 5 years please help)
Site Graphics
- Blinkie Obsession - A lot of miscellaneous blinkies. I mean a lot.
- The 88x31 GIF Collection - The above, but replace blinkies with buttons.
- Gifcities - Internet Archive well... archived a bunch of Geocities sites just before it went down. Gifcities hosts a lot of the GIFs from these sites, as well as letting you see an archived version of them. It's really neat!
- Emoji Bank - A bunch of emote-sized GIFs. (Note: The site is in Japanese, but if you have Google Translate, you should be fine.
- Peachie's Collection - Has a good variety of various non-button/blinkie GIFs. The fish section is amazing.
- Bonnibel's Graphic Collection - A lot of everything, basically.
- Dokode.moe - Has some templates for buttons.
